Mixed-media encaustic plaster sculpture in the round 16" x 8" x 6" 2025 The Enso Circle Residency Published Enso Circle Exhibition Catalog Artist Statement: The Seeker stands sixteen inches tall, embodying presence and longing with closed eyes and a serene expression. Her dress, textured with natural patterns and shaded in blues, whites, and earth tones, reflects a deep bond with Hood Canal’s environment—the setting of the Twana tale inspiring her. A translucent cloak drapes her shoulders, symbolizing nature’s fragile beauty and the vulnerability of searching for something lost. In her hand, she holds a small staff adorned with moss collected from the artist’s yard, anchoring her to the landscape of the legend. Crafted from plaster, wire mesh, encaustic layers, cold wax, and natural materials, she explores themes of loss, memory, and hope. Resting on a mottled wooden base, The Seeker honors those who wait and search, capturing the universal tension between holding on and letting go
